🥾 Hike Fat Rabbit Trail Within Maston Trail System in Redmond-Easy 5 Mile Loop

Fat Rabbit Trail easy 5 mile loop! This peaceful trail is within the Maston Trail System located between Tumalo and Eagle Crest Resort (Redmond).

The starting point is the Juniper Trail Head. This hike should be very convenient for folks coming from Redmond, Bend, Tumalo, Terrebonne, Sisters, or Powell Butte.

This trail is an easy 5 mile round-trip loop with no elevation. The area features desert terrain with juniper forests, basalt outcrops, and views of the Deschutes River Canyon.

No poles necessary. Please bring water. No dogs. No toilet facilities.

Directions:

There are two trailheads that access the Maston Trail Use Area. The smaller Juniper Trailhead, where we will park, is located along Cline Falls Highway at the North end of the Maston area. So don’t turn when you see a sign for Maston Trail System while driving on Cline Falls Highway. That road leads to the main parking lot.
